This zoomorphic horses design is a typical Celtic style illustration, adapted from illuminated manuscript. The stylised animals are a recurring motif in many Christian era manuscripts. The To simulate the effect of the vibrant hues used in the original manuscripts they have been worked entirely in glistening Anchor Marlitt thread. This is a shiny viscose thread and is therefore a little harder to work with than standard thread. Only Anchor Marlitt scheme is provided, but if desired you may substitute six-stranded cotton. A pastel alternative is available, displayed above right. Completed design fits a 6" x 8" (152mm x 202mm) frame, and is stitched on 14ct ivory (cream) Aida. Chart and colour pictorial reference supplied, P&P included in price. New online shopping site: http://www.jstitch.net/ Use codes CLTHRST (Traditional), CLTHRSP (Pastel), in ordering. |
