Irish Saying: "May you be in heaven..."

Irish Saying: "May you be in heaven..." - CLTMAY1

"May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil knows you're dead"

This is a saying typical of the quirky humour of the Irish people, but quite a good sentiment when you come to think about it!

The design of the lettering and interwoven knotwork is inspired by the Celtic style manuscripts of the early Christian era in Ireland.

To simulate the effect of the vibrant hues used in the original manuscripts the design has been worked entirely in glistening Anchor Marlitt thread. This is a shiny viscose thread and is therefore a little harder to work with than standard thread.

Only Anchor Marlitt scheme is provided, but if desired you may substitute six-stranded cotton. A pastel alternative is available, displayed above right. Completed design measures 4.5" x 4.5" (114mm x 114mm) and works best with a 9" x 9" (229mm x 229mm) frame (approx.). It is stitched on 14ct ivory (cream) Aida.

Chart and colour pictorial reference supplied, P&P included in price.
