These Spiral designs are inspired by the decorative features on Celtic ornaments and the illuminated manuscripts and chalices of the early Christian period in Ireland. To simulate the effect of the enamels, colored glass and gold used in the original ornaments they have been worked entirely in glistening Anchor Marlitt thread. This is a shiny viscose thread and is therefore a little harder to work with than standard thread. Only Anchor Marlitt scheme is provided, but if desired you may substitute six-stranded cotton. Completed "La Tene" style Spirals are 6" (152mm) circles, and are displayed here with wood effect flexihoops on 14ct ivory (cream) Aida. Colour chart and pictorial reference supplied, P&P included in price. New online shopping site: http://www.jstitch.net/ Use code CLTSPR1 (left), CLTSPR2 (right) in ordering. |
