The symbols of the "Five Nations", which still battle it out in the world of rugby. Simulated Limerick Lace on Green 14ct. Aida, seen here in 4" (101mm) square flexi-squares. Also good on delft blue fabric, or with black stitching on white or red fabric.

Top row (Left to Right):

The Shamrock, a symbol with special significance in Ireland, it is said that St. Patrick, the patron saint used it to demonstrate the idea of the Trinity.

The Leek, national symbol of Wales, seen on some British Pound coins.

The Harp, traditional symbol of Ireland, and seen on the reverse of all Irish minted Euro coins.

Bottom Row (Left to Right):

The Thistle, Scotland's national emblem. Also seen on some British Pound coins.

The Tudor Rose, One of England's most famous national symbols.

The Fleur-de-Lis, a French emblem.
