Blarney Castle in Co. Cork, just outside Cork city, is the
site of the Famous Blarney Stone, kissed by many and said to impart
"the gift of the gab"!
- Carrickfergus Castle may be the best preserved Norman
Castle in the World, dating from the 12th Century. William Penn,
founder of Pennsylvania, lived both in Carrickfergus town, and
Bunratty Castle! Carrickfergus sits at the entrance to Belfast Lough
in Co. Antrim, the starting point for the Antrim Coast road leading
to the Giant's Causeway.
- Bunratty Castle was still lived in at the beginning of
this century. The castle is just off the main Limerick - Shannon
road. A visit to this now-restored castle and the accompanying folk
park is a must. Also in the picture is traditional Irish pub Durty Nelly's.
Chart and
colour pictorial reference supplied, P&P included in price.
